The State theater is proud to present Scottie Miller in collaboration with the Rochester Symphony! Scottie's band plus 10-members of the Rochester Symphony will fill the stage. Led by violinist/arranger Cierra Alise Hill. This is Scottie's official Southern Minnesota Album Release for "Hello Pain." An album he built with Cierra and recorded with The Budapest Scoring Orchestra. Rich with cinematic grandeur, Scottie will be performing the album in its entirety, along with some other favorites from his 13 album catalogue.

Award-winning Minnesota-born pianist, singer-songwriter, and poet Scottie Miller blends cinematic songwriting with roots-driven soul, moving effortlessly from blues foundations into a fresh, indie-folk orchestral sound. A contributor to Ruthie Foster's 2024 Grammy®-nominated album, Miller was named Artist of the Year by Bluebird Reviews and received a Blues Music Award for Blues Song Of The Year, affirming a career defined by fearless emotional storytelling. From his recent Carnival Cocoon poetry-music experiments to the sweeping orchestral world of his highly anticipated 2026 release Hello Pain, Scottie's live performances are intimate, powerful, and transportive—an evening that feels less like a concert and more like stepping inside a living, breathing story.

We are proud to present a touring production of THE ROOT BEER LADY. Written by Kim Schultz, THE ROOT BEER LADY tells the story of the indomitable Dorothy Molter, the last legal non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters. The story reflects the beauty and hardships of Molter's solitary yet satisfying life beginning in 1934. The play, funny and passionate, explores her independence, fortitude, and love of nature. Molter pushes back against the premise that her time in the North Woods made her the "Loneliest Woman in America," as the Saturday Evening Post claimed in 1952. Kim Schultz is a nationally and internationally acclaimed writer, actor, and solo show artist working across mediums. THE ROOT BEER LADY marks Kim's third solo show. The tour is produced by Bourgoin Productions. Originally from Minneapolis, Kim Schultz is a Chicago-based actor, writer, solo show artist and storyteller. In Chicago, Kim has worked at The Goodman Theatre, Lookinglass Theatre and Silk Road Rising. In 2007, after her dad died and a con-man conned her, she wove the stories into a play called "The F Trip." In 2009, she was commissioned to travel to the Middle East as an artist/activist to meet with Iraqi refugees and write a play inspired by the trip. Out of that came the solo show "No Place Called Home" which she performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of World Refugee Day and off Broadway in NYC in 2010, as well as a 4-year national tour. Kim also authored the memoir "Three Days in Damascus" (Palewell Press, 2016).

The Dweebs are a Family Party Band from Wisconsin performing top 40 hits from the 60's through today with High Energy, Crazy Stage Antics and lots of crowd participation. Started in 1987 by Michael "Papa Dweeb" Blue. In 2004 Papa Dweeb would bring his 3 children into the band as they traveled the country performing at Fairs, Festivals, Private Parties, 55+ communities & Company Parties. 20 years later In 2024, Papa Dweeb would add his grandchildren into the band adding the 3rd generation of family performers. The Dweebs continue to spread joy across the nation doing what they love and sharing their passion with everyone they encounter.

In the spring of 2014 some area residents of Zumbrota, Minnesota collaborated to create a movie in, and with, their community. Area residents not only acted along side professional SAG actors in various locations around the town, but also shared their gifts to help produce all aspects of the project. The result was a beautiful movie named "His Neighbor Phil" (later edited and renamed "A Timeless Love").

The story takes us into the lives of Mary (Stephanie Zimbalist), her husband Harvey (Daniel Roebuck), their family (daughters played by Rachel Storey and Kristi Knudson; sister by Ellen Dolan; mother by Sally Kellerman) and friends and neighbors as they live within the reality of Mary's diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.

Harvey discovers that music seems to be a connection to Mary's memories and an inner live that he desperately longs to share. The mystery of her disease has him questioning not only his current relationship with Mary, but the truth about their past, as well.

Alzheimer's organizations have hailed the film as "Humorous, Heartbreaking and Hopeful".

On Sunday, September 20th, the Zumbrota State Theatre, will host a double feature to show both the initial film ("His Neighbor Phil") and the final edited version ("A Timeless Love"). You are cordially invited to come enjoy this unique gift created by members of the Zumbrota community and shared through this story of love, change, music, and memories.
