For over a century, the Zumbrota Area Arts Council (ZAAC) has worked to preserve and restore Zumbrota’s Historic State Theatre—a beloved community landmark since 1921. Once a movie house and now a vibrant hub for theater, musicals, concerts, and local arts, the theatre continues to bring people together through entertainment.
In 2021, we celebrated the theatre’s 100th Anniversary with the restoration of the original lobby and foyer. Now, we are turning our attention to the auditorium seats—and we need your help!
How You Can Help: Take a Seat!
We have launched the “Take A Seat Campaign” to raise funds for the restoration of these historic seats. We are fortunate that the refurbished seats have been installed, but we need help covering the cost of this renovation.
✨ When you donate, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Name a seat in honor or memory of yourself or someone special
- Have a small gold plaque placed on the seat with your chosen inscription
- Be part of the living history of the theatre while honoring someone meaningful in your life
Cost
- $100 per seat: Restoration costs are higher, so additional contributions are greatly appreciated!
How to Donate
- ONLINE PAYMENT: Donate by scanning the QR Code – After adding your donation, click “CONTINUE” and there is a space on the next page to add the name you want listed on the seat. You them complete the checkout with your online payment.
- MAIL IN PAYMENT: Print out the donation form and mail form and check to Zumbrota State Theatre, PO Box 45, Zumbrota MN 55992
