A Rue/Sabien performance is an ad lib, rapid-fire affair, riddled with a melodic cascade of personally-penned favorites peppered with musical ideas, duologues on inspiration, oblique social commentary, and comic highs and lows — all thoroughly plumbed from the musical depths of piano, guitar, violin, mando and voices that soar, growl and bubble within a sardonic Robin Williams/Noel Coward sense of humor.

Gary Rue (guitar, piano and voice): Composer, lyricist, performer; songs recorded by Helen Reddy, Nick Lowe, Prudence Johnson; 2010 MN Music Hall of Fame inductee. Randy Sabien (guitar, violin, mando, piano, and voice): Jazz violinist of the Stéphane Grappelli school — hot club, blues and western swing.

Thomasina Petrus has created a very special piece of musical cabaret celebrating the life and influence of Billie Holiday. With the unthinkable ability to capture the vocal and physical presence of "Lady Day," Thomasina takes audiences on a scintillating audible history that eventually ends with the discovery of Thomasina's own incredibly unique and powerful voice.

Through a musical timeline of artists impacted by Billie Holiday — including Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James — Thomasina celebrates the history of these artists while incorporating the American history that shaped them. Supported by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council through the arts and cultural heritage fund.

No other composer captured the spirit and energy of 20th-century America better than George Gershwin. In his tragically short lifetime, he gave us masterpieces like Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, Porgy and Bess and beloved songs — "Summertime," "Lady Be Good," "Someone to Watch Over Me" — that have become part of the fabric of our culture.

Gershwin's music is in good hands with pianist Dan Chouinard, violinist Randy Sabien and vocalist Prudence Johnson, who bring gentle virtuosity and playful invention to the stage. Toes can't help tapping when Randy starts swinging, hearts melt when Prudence wraps her velvet voice around a Gershwin love song, and Dan's version of Rhapsody in Blue is an absolute show stopper.

A unique and powerful show featuring the hits and beloved deep symphonic tracks of two of the greatest names in popular music — Elton John and Billy Joel. An intimate setting of piano, guitar and a string quartet with the vocals of Mick Sterling and Cate Fierro.

Songs such as "Levon," "Tiny Dancer," "New York State of Mind," "Allentown," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and many more, presented in a way you've never heard before.
